I purchased these speakers as the KEFs were taking too long to build and the wife wanted something that looked nicer than my prototype MDF odd sized cabinets shown in the KEF section! They are very good. The treble is not a sweet as the Kefs but they will definitely find a home in another room when I eventually finish the others. It was however comfortably reassuring to find out that a set of speakers with a £900 retail price (when they first hit the market) do not out perform something i'm building! UPDATE! WOW! It seems these take a while to "Break-In". They've been running for about 100 hrs now and the sound is truely astounding. They have a very sweet sound and plently of deep fast bass. Balanced perfectly accross the entire frequency range. They effortlesly deliver a huge sound into my large living room. The Bass is much faster than I'm used too with my KEF TL's (and the wife is happier with the looks!!!) Can't be bad :-) Having said that the sound from the 775e's is still very good and given that my room is very large and open and therefore hard to drive they do an excellent job. |
